Amanda and Jared are one in a million. We initially found them on Rover several years ago and felt like we had struck gold after combing through pages of other sitters that just didn’t have what we were looking for. It was important to us to avoid a free-for-all environment and we appreciated Amanda’s attention to training and structure. After the initial meet-and-greet we knew we found some really special people to trust with our most valuable furry family member. We have now boarded our dog with them over a dozen times and every single time he has come home as a better version of himself.
Amanda and Jared are friendly, warm, and empathetic people. They have extensive knowledge and experience with dog training, behavior, and safety. They prioritize structure and enrichment in a way that allows the dogs to have an enjoyable time without devolving into chaos. They are extremely safety-conscious and do an excellent job supervising and gauging the dogs’ temperaments to make sure that play time is fair and friendly. When play time is over, they provide an environment that is conducive to rest, letting the dogs settle and reset. They do all of this while providing detailed updates and fun photos and videos several times each day.
Our dog absolutely loves visiting Amanda and Jared’s, and looks so pleased and content in every update they send. Their Samoyeds, Georgia and Goose, are beautiful and incredibly well trained, doing service/therapy work and earning titles in dog shows. When our dog comes home from Amanda and Jared’s he doesn’t need any kind of re-set period to remember his manners and training, and he is able to reintegrate seamlessly into our normal life. We credit this entirely to Amanda and Jared’s commitment to maintaining the dogs’ training and manners during their stay.
We have trusted Amanda and Jared with our dog for several extended periods including international and overseas trips. While we were across the world in Japan last summer, our dog experienced a medical emergency (no fault whatsoever of Amanda and Jared’s!) and they handled it beautifully and professionally, including vet visits on our behalf. We trusted their judgment completely and they took excellent care of our guy through a really difficult time. On another occasion, Amanda and Jared watched our dog while our baby was born! They were so wonderful and understanding of our need for flexibility during a time of much uncertainty. They even went so far as to offer to keep our dog a few extra days so we could get settled before introducing our newest family member. Amanda and Jared are so kind, understanding, and professional; there is no one else we would trust more than Amanda and Jared with our pup and we are so grateful for their care.
Boarding with Amanda and Jared is the best of both worlds between a board-and-train and feeling like your dog is staying with friends. They are truly wonderful, extremely competent people and I’m convinced they are the best dog sitters we will ever find.
